How Facet works
What we offer
Facet is an online marketplace for custom, made-to-order fine jewelry. Customers describe a piece (rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings) including metal, purity, gemstones and size. Independent, vetted jewelers submit itemized quotes, and the customer chooses one artisan to craft the piece.
Who sells
Every artisan is an independent business that passes our review: business registration evidence, portfolio, insurance and identity verification. Artisans are responsible for the pieces they make.
Pricing
Each quote is a fixed price in US dollars itemizing materials and labor, with insured shipping included. Facet adds a clearly shown 5% platform fee at checkout. No subscriptions or hidden charges.
Payment
Customers pay by card at checkout through Stripe. Facet holds the payment and releases it to the artisan only after the customer confirms delivery, subject to a seven-day inspection window. Card details are handled by Stripe, never stored by Facet.
Production & delivery
Pieces are made to order, typically within 2–8 weeks depending on complexity. Artisans ship fully insured with tracking and signature on delivery, and customers follow progress in their account.
Refunds & cancellations
Customers may cancel for a full refund before production begins. Pieces that arrive damaged, defective or materially different from the agreed design can be reported within seven days of delivery for repair, remake or refund. Because pieces are custom, change-of-mind returns after production are not accepted.
